Salmon Patties

Recipe Image: Salmon PattiesTuna just not your jam right now? Canned chicken got you feeling bored? Well, did you know that you can buy canned salmon at your local grocery store, too? That's right! You'll find it in the same aisle as other canned meats. Just like with tuna and chicken, you'll want to lean into varieties that are canned or pouched in water, not oil. Also, look for varieties that are packed without bones (you can find both in the grocery store). This will save you time at home from having to pick them out.

So, why salmon? Well for starters it's high in both protein and essential omega fatty acids! Canned and pouch varieties carry all of the same nutritional value as fresh or frozen salmon, with the added bonus also being shelf stable - meaning you don't have to use it as soon as you buy it. So, go ahead and stock up on a few cans that you can use now and later! There are a lot of different ways you can use and enjoy canned salmon. You can put it on a sandwich, you can sprinkle it over a salad, and you can even turn it into patties for delicious burgers like we're sharing with you today!

This recipe is simple. It's delicious. And it comes together in right about 15 minutes using pantry and kitchen staples that you've probably already got at home! The spices we've listed are the ones we enjoy most, but you can certainly experiment with your own preferred flavors or swap out the ones that you do have. Don't let not having any dill weed in your pantry keep you from enjoying this one! For an extra punch of texture, you can add in diced bell pepper and green onion, but this recipe is also great without those additions. Our favorite way to enjoy a salmon patty? With a delicious side of tartar sauce. Many store bought varieities are made with extra sugars, fats, and preservatives. If you think this salmon patty recipe is easy, then you're going to love our 3-ingredient slimmed down tartar sauce (don't worry, we've included that recipe below, too).

Our recipe below is written for 1 serving for convenience, but you can easily adapt this recipe to feed 4 or make 4 servings at a time! The cooking instructions are the same whether you are cooking for 2 or for 4. Keep in mind you may need a larger bowl or skillet to mix and cook all ingredients for 4 together; or you'll need to mix and cook in batches. Ingredients for 4 can be found at the bottom of this recipe!
