Vision boards are often called Creative Collages, Dream Boards, Goal Boards, Mind Maps, and Treasure Maps. They are visual representations of your hopes and dreams, they help define your purpose, and set your goals. The saying “A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words” is true. We think, remember, and plan in pictures. If I ask you "what is your best childhood memory?" most of you just saw a picture or movie in your mind of this memory...you SAW it. Who was your first pet? Did an image of your first dog just pop into your mind? Images are powerful tools that can help you create the life you want. Neuroscience has found that the subconscious mind, which is responsible for most of what we do, sees pictures and mostly uses it's visual sense. Providing your subconscious mind with positive, motivating, uplifting images is an effective way to "train your brain" to help you succeed.

Vision boards are designed to evoke emotion, to make you feel, the images you choose should be meaningful, powerful, and speak to you at your core. You may cut out 100 pictures, and only use 10, in fact, I hope you do! That process of evaluating, discerning, and choosing the very best representations of what you want, is a worthwhile effort in and of itself.

What We Focus On Expands

 You'll Need:

  • Backdrop - Posterboard, corkboard, journal pages, or even a beautiful pinboard.
  • Glue or Glue Sticks
  • Markers, pens, paint, etc.
  • Index Cards
  • Magazines to cut out beautiful images and quotes
  • Scissors and tape
  • Beautiful images that help represent what you want
  • Quotes, lettering, etc. We've got several below that you are welcome to print and add to your board.

Many people like to put a mantra in the middle of their vision board. Sometimes this is a well know motivational quote, and other times you might create something just perfectly suited to you and your dreams. Here are a few ideas:

Be Brave

Live Loud (or open, or free)

Fit, Fierce, Fabulous

I Am Strong

This is MY Year (season)

I am a SUCCESS

I am a Winner

I am worth it

Head up, Heart Open

Let NAME, Be NAME (this one is a powerful statement of self-acceptance. Many of us wear a mask, pretend to be what others want us to be. This mantra says I am ME and will BE ME). Example: Let Jane, Be Jane!

I Accept Abundant Love and Happiness (change this to anything you want in abundance)

I am Thankful

I started at MRC of Melbourne in March 2021 with Coach Monica. I have lost 34 pounds and I feel great. MRC offers a range of options for weight loss. And while there are supplements and injections, I opted for a program that is diet based, using a simple meal plan, along with protein drinks and soups. I make an effort to walk every day and I have hip issues. I am 61 and of course, post menopause which makes it difficult for some women to lose weight. I struggled during COVID (sitting all day working from home). I saw a post on Facebook where a friend had lost her first 10 pounds at MRC and I inquired about the program. I am well on my way to an even healthier life for me, my family and grandkids. My Coaches, Denise and Monica, are very friendly and supportive. They are good listeners and know their business. I found my first visit to be no pressure and selected the program most suited to me and my health. I feel WONDERFUL. Something to think about - A year from now you may regret what you didn't start today! Go for it!
